What are we doing?

Do you like to make a positive difference in the lives of other people? Enjoy traveling and experiencing other cultures? If you are open-minded, don’t mind working hard, have a sense of humour and are interested in giving people a "hand up,” you are invited to join the team going to Argentina in November 2014. You will spend quality time with a group of like-minded Canadians as we work alongside local people on housing or other projects that support low-income Argentinians and strengthen communities.

Mucho mas que casas- Much more than houses...

Habitat for Humanity Argentina

Starting in Buenos Aires in 2007, Habitat Argentina has developed a flexible program that includes assisted rentals, incremental improvements and core housing to meet specific regional needs. Global Village teams participate in projects in either Santa Fe or Buenos Aires.

Habitat Argentina strives for solutions adapted to the local socio-economic context and the needs of communities and partner families. About 4 million houses are considered sub-standard, but some 60% are considered recoverable through improvements such as installing a decent roof, installing running water, repairing bedrooms, adding a bathroom or improving sanitary conditions. The aim is to provide safe, healthy housing that contributes to community and family stability.
